Training Requirement:
Anyone who uses a biological safety cabinet is required to take the training class, "Biological Safety Cabinets and How to Use Them".
The class covers types of cabinets and proper technique in how to use them. Register for the class by going to the Biosafety Training Schedule.

Certification and maintenance of biological cabinets at UCLA
Biological safety cabinets used for human cell culture, tissues or fluids, recombinant DNA or infectious agents must be cetified annually and maintained operational. UCLA
currently has a sole source contact with the vendor Technical Safety Services (TSS) to certify and maintain all biological safety cabinets at UCLA. They can be contacted at 1-800-877-7742
to schedule certification or maintenance work. Contact the UCLA Biosafety office for contract rates and other information.
